What is G2data ?

G2data is an enterprise class business management tool, allowing you to allocate tasks and share and manage your organisation's information with those who need it.

Why does my organisation need G2data ?

G2data is a simple secure way to increase the productivity of staff and the effectiveness of your organisation.

Can remote workers access G2data from home ?

Yes

G2data can be accessed from anywhere on the Internet.

The only limiting factor is the speed of the Internet connection and a handful of features which are disabled for security reason.

For security reasons you may not want all your staff to have access from outside the office, so you can restrict who can and who can't access G2data remotely.

What makes G2data different ?

G2data is server based and accessed through a standard web browser. This means no software is installed or maintained on client PCs as all data is accessed securely via almost any modern web browser.

G2data is a cross platform solution that can be hosted and accessed by systems running Unix, Linux, Mac or Windows operating systems, not just Windows.

Being browser based ensures users instinctively know how to navigate features, which means most new users are usually familiar with how to use it with little or no format training.

Is it Secure ?

Yes.

G2data uses the same security protocols used in e-commerce and online banking. This secures the transmission of data over the network and Internet.

As for access to information, only authenticated users can access data. Each item of data (such as a company, task, appointment) has permissions applied to it ensuring only those who should see it, can.

User/Group permissions allow you to efficiently control and manage access to your organisation's information and from where they can access it.

Is it easy to use ?

What software needs to be installed to use G2data ?

The G2data database is installed on a server that can be hosted either locally on your site or in a data centre.

G2data is then accessed through a standard web browser so no software needs to be installed on the client PC other than it's native web browser.

G2data is accessible using all the popular web browsers running on their default settings, including:

• Internet Explorer
• Firefox
• Netscape
• Opera

G2data can also be accessed via most modern mobile phone or PDA's web browsers.

Can G2data be customised to suit our specific needs ?

Yes.

G2data can be customised and bespoke features added to it. These features can either be programmed by G2 Solutions or we can provide support to 3rd party software developers who wish to develop custom features.

Where the addition of custom features prevent the generic product from being updated during routine updates/upgrades this would be classed as a bespoke product. A separate support contract may be required to support certain custom features.

Where is G2data hosted ?

G2data can be hosted on your own server on site or in a data centre. There are pros and cons to each method and depends on your priorities, but either method can be employed.

What format is my data stored ?

Data is stored in standard SQL (Structured Query Language) format in a secure MySQL database and can be exported to a variety of other common formats, including Microsoft Excel, Comma Separated Values (CSV), XML.
